The marathon this year is from 21 October through 25 October.

It's that wonderful time of the New York year when the weather is mild, the shows are cheap, the bands are great and the Miller is Lite. Expect our shows to be announced soon!

The Burg for Barack

Hey Fans of La Strada

Are you fans of Obama too? If so, check this out:

Come to Sound Fix for The Burg for Barack - a grassroots fundraising event featuring La Strada, Twi the Humble Feather, and Amber Rubarth. Plus a cupcakes-and-brownies-galore bake sale, and a silent auction including fine apparel, jewelry, yoga classes and spa packages, and more from stylish neighborhood boutiques and stores. 100% of the proceeds go to the Obama campaign. The event begins on 6 September at 8pm at 110 Bedford Ave. Sound Fix. $5 suggested donation at the door.

There have been crazy donations in the Williamburg and LES area for the auction...and there's us and Twi and Amber...AND THERE ARE LEMON BARS and brownies and cupcakes. And 100% going to Obama!?!? Let's pack the place!

Tickets on Sale for New Music Festival

Remember that article about us and seven other bands in The L Magazine? Well, the folks at that magazine decided it would be fun to get a bunch of them together in one place once again, this time for public consumption.

You can now buy your tickets to see us, La Strada, and other great burgeoning New York City bands at The Music Hall of Williamsburg on June 5. If you buy in advance, it's $8, or else it's $10 at the door.

Here is the full lineup hosted by Bobby Tisdale:

The Lisps
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart
Famous Amos
Meowskers
Motel Motel
and La Strada, of course

Year's End, Beginning

Dear Friends,

After our first year filled with over 30 shows and many more wonderful experiences, La Strada is embarking on our first (short-ish) winter break in order to write new songs and prepare for a second year of performing around NYC and hopefully beyond. Thanks for your support and enthusiasm and don't forget to check in periodically to keep up-to-date with new entries, upcoming shows, La Strada recordings and musical vignettes (a.k.a. l'autre musique) from band members.

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and support in the past year. We can't wait to play for you at the next show!

Today is the one day anniversary of the wedding celebration party. Our violist's marriage was actually this summer but until now we never really had a website. Thanks for the good times and the good cake. Congratulations Corrina and Tim!

The Big Bang.

Mysterious energy ignites the universe. Atoms form, matter settles into galaxies, planets form, trees grow, and blogs are written. Between that wonderful instance that began time and present day, much has happened to us, La Strada. So here's what we've been up to...
